Alaska allows studded tires seasonally. North of 60° North latitude they are legal from September 16, 2026 through April 30, 2027. South of that line they are legal from October 1, 2026 through April 14, 2027. On a paved portion of the Sterling Highway, at any latitude, studded tires are prohibited from May 1, 2027 through September 15, 2027, so the northern window applies there. See 13 AAC 04.110 and the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF).
