In Delaware, legal fireworks may be used only on July 4, the third day of Diwali, December 31, and January 1 — use on any other day is illegal. They may be sold only from June 4 to July 4 and from December 1 to January 1.

In New York, where sparkling devices are legal, sales are limited to June 1 to July 5 and December 26 to January 2 for permanent retailers, or June 20 to July 5 and December 26 to January 2 for temporary stands. They are fully prohibited at all times in New York City and in counties that have opted out.

In Pennsylvania, consumer fireworks may be used year-round, but municipalities may restrict use between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. — except on July 2, 3 and 4 and on December 31 (when use is allowed until 1 a.m.), and on adjacent days when July 4 falls Tuesday through Thursday. Fireworks cannot be used while under the influence.
