Never have a loaded firearm in a vehicle on a public road unless you hold a Hawaii License to Carry for that pistol or revolver; otherwise it is a class B felony. Without a license, a firearm must stay at your home, business or place where you are staying. You may carry it unloaded in an enclosed container only between those places and a repair shop, target range, licensed dealer, firearms show, training class or police station. Firearms brought into Hawaii must be registered within five days.
