Alabama has no legal recreational possession, and any amount is a misdemeanor. Registered patients may possess only state-approved forms — tablets, tinctures, gels, oils and patches — up to a 70-day supply (AMCC Rule 538-X-2-.08(6)), and purchases are capped at a 60-day supply per transaction.

Marijuana is illegal to possess in Tennessee in any amount. Simple possession is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to 11 months and 29 days in jail and a fine of up to $2,500. Possessing half an ounce (14.175 grams) or more can be charged as a Class E felony when there is evidence of intent to sell or deliver it. See Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 39-17-418, 39-17-417(g)(1) and 40-35-111(e)(1).
