  • ColoradoPermitted

In Colorado, groceries and convenience stores sell full-strength beer (since 2019) and wine (since March 2023), but the standard grocery license does not permit spirits. A grocery store that also runs a pharmacy can hold a liquor-licensed drugstore license, and those stores do sell spirits. No new grocery liquor licenses are being issued (SB25-033).

  • IdahoPermitted

In Idaho, groceries and convenience stores sell beer and wine — table wine up to 16% alcohol by volume and dessert wine from 16% to 24% — and wine sales are a county local option. Spirits come only from state liquor stores and Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) contract retailers, some of which operate inside groceries. Spirit-based ready-to-drink cans at or below 14% alcohol by volume sell as wine; above that they are liquor.
