No size limit and no daily creel limit on all public waters statewide except: Lake Chatuge (Clay Co.) — no minimum size, 10 fish in combination with largemouth, smallmouth, Alabama, and spotted bass; New River (Alleghany Co. portion downstream of Fields Dam) — none 14–22 inches may be possessed, only 1 fish over 22 inches, 5 fish combined with largemouth and smallmouth. In most NC waters Alabama/spotted bass are unregulated, providing essentially unlimited harvest.
